All of a sudden, the first Classics of 2017 are upon us.
We'll revert to Flat mode in due course, but it is worth reflecting once more upon a certain aspect of the jumps scene. Indeed, it is better done through a Flat prism, as the refractions offer a convenient foil.
On Saturday, Churchill will face nine rivals. At the time of writing on Thursday morning, each runner and rider can be named with a reasonable degree of certainty, along with those in every other Flat race in Britain on Saturday.
