Thrilled to be at Del Mar and hoping to see Ribchester cap fine career
I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to fly out to Del Mar this week to enjoy the Breeders' Cup and by the time you are reading this over your Saturday cornflakes, the first of two excellent days of racing will have taken place.
The plan had been for me to ride at the meeting 12 months ago but my injury robbed me of the opportunity and so, while I would rather be out on the track competing, it is special to be here and it is great that so many talented Europeans have made the trip too.
Ribchester would have to be the horse I am most looking forward to seeing in the Mile. He has been a wonderful campaigner for Godolphin and the horse of a lifetime for Richard Fahey and his team at Musley Bank. They all deserve to be able to celebrate another wonderful victory with him before he heads off to stud.
