The way out of lockdown: three things to watch for in the coming weeks

The latest buzz phrase for corona watchers: exit strategy, to be used in the context of: 'Does anyone have one?'.

Now the infection appears to be plateauing in many parts of the world, including Europe's worst hit countries Italy and Spain, the argument runs it is time to think about how we extricate ourselves from our present lockdown situation.

This may seem gratuitously premature when hospitalisations and deaths continue to rise, and the British government is striving to avoid talking too much about what comes next while the current trends continue and the Prime Minister is one of thousands occupying intensive care units.
