If on Saturday we did indeed witness the final running of the Hennessy Gold Cup as the Hennessy Gold Cup, then what a way it was for the great old race to bow out.

There is something incredibly special about the Hennessy. Outside of the Grand National it is the most valuable jumps handicap staged in Britain and undoubtedly the best. For this, the 60th and probably final running under the Hennessy banner, it more than lived up to its storied reputation.
