The fact Ruby is going to Limerick tells you all you need to know
Willie Mullins gives the lowdown on his cracking Christmas team
The countdown to Christmas is ticking towards Leopardstown and Limerick time and, now that the staff party night is over for another year (still feeling the effects!), we can concentrate on the racing
We have a very strong team this Christmas, especially at Limerick where we are likely to have more runners than ever over the four-day festival.
Getabird will lead us into battle down there in the Matchbook Betting Exchange Novice Chase on Wednesday, the first Grade 1 to ever be run at the track. The fact that Ruby [Walsh] is heading down to ride him tells you all you need to know.
Footpad has recovered well from his mishap at Naas and goes for the Paddy's Rewards Club "Sugar Paddy" Chase at Leopardstown on Thursday in great form.
We are likely to have a few of runners in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown on Friday with Al Boum Photo, Bellshill and Kemboy all in course for the contest, while we might finally get to see Annamix on a racecourse at Limerick on Friday.
There are a few big days ahead for us.
Anamix
I've been very pleased with this fella of late and we're really looking forward to seeing how he gets on. He jumps great. It’s looking likely he will run in the 2m maiden hurdle on Friday at Limerick where the ground should suit him.
Al Boum Photo
There looks to be nothing else for him other than the Savills Chase at Leopardstown so I'd imagine that’s where he'll head. He is fit and well. He looks great.
Bellshill
We have long had the Savills Chase at Leopardstown in mind for him but it's certainly a case of the more rain the better for him.
