Depending on who you listen to, jump racing is doomed and anyone with ten grand in their back pocket would be as well off speculating on the Flat rather than taking on some of the powerhouse owners over jumps.

Those people must not be aware of Peter Fahey’s The Big Doyen, who, from humble beginnings, has emerged as a leading Cheltenham Bumper fancy for the Money For Jam Syndicate.

The ten or so syndicate members would, pardon the pun, get a lot of money for their jam should they decide to part with their dual bumper winner but apparently no amount of dosh will persuade them to sell their dream.
