The foundations of modern-day bookmaking are built on excessive generosity, and privileges granted to punters have never been so plentiful.

Best-odds guaranteed, money-back specials and free bets galore have drastically altered the landscape of betting on racing in the past decade and nowadays firms are arguably too charitable.

Another incentive for bettors, justice refunds, patently contradict their title and can realistically be deemed injustices for firms. If a horse rears up in the stalls and gives a field 20 lengths, a layer should not be obliged to hose down burnt fingers by reimbursing those who backed that runner.
