Stop wasting the supplementary money and put it to better use

The £75,000 paid by the Queen to add Dartmouth into the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes proved to be money well spent. It was not, however, money well used.
Considerable sums enter the sport each year in the form of supplementary entry payments. A serious rethink about where that money heads would be most welcome. At the moment it is being completely wasted.
What we had on Saturday was, in terms of quality, as weak a King George as most could remember. It was, nevertheless, an extremely valuable King George.
