Sean Bowen prevails after a season-long grind - surely now jump jockeys deserve a proper break before it all starts again

This week marks the dawning of a long-awaited dream for Sean Bowen as he finally claims his first jump jockeys' title.
Bowen came so close to the crown last season only to miss out by a narrow margin, and his elation at going one better is a reminder of how much the title means to those involved. For a jockey, there is nothing quite like it.
Most racing fans will bid farewell to the jumps on Saturday and turn their attention to the Flat, but Bowen's focus is unlikely to be solely on his victory; there is another championship just around the corner, starting just a week after Sandown, and the rider has already made clear he will be going all out to win it again.
