For me, the Breeders' Cup marks the last true vestige of the Flat season.

The jumps season hasn't quite kicked into top gear yet, but by the time we get to a few big one-off events such as the Japan Cup or Hong Kong, attention has firmly turned to the likes of the Betfair Chase, Coral Gold Cup and Tingle Creek.

The Breeders' Cup is the final marquee meeting at which the world's best take each other on, and another strong contingent of European horses will make the pilgrimage to Keeneland this week, led by the likes of Highfield Princess, Mishriff and Kinross.
