Ryan Moore on brink of passing Ballydoyle greats - and doing it on his own terms
Should Ryan Moore win one of the three Group 1races at Epsom, he will join Mick Kinane on 62 wins in the highest echelon for Aidan O’Brien.
Two or more would see him top the pile of 21 riders to have ridden Group 1 winners for O’Brien during his 24-year tenure at Ballydoyle. Whether it happens on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or some other day, it will happen and it will be quite some feat when it does.
In quintessential Moore fashion, the landmark has crept up unnoticed and there is unlikely to be much fanfare when he does bypass Kinane to become the most successful big-race rider to be associated with Ballydoyle in terms of numbers.
