Racing punditry has become far too nice - we all need to be more like Ted Walsh and say it like it is

There will never be another Ted Walsh. Two would be one too many. He belongs to a bygone era of saying whatever you want, about whoever you want, whenever you want. 

We were blessed he was born when he was, because had his mother held off for longer we would have been deprived of a national treasure whose tongue has entertained us for decades. That tongue would have been tied up in no time had he started broadcasting 50 years later than he did.  

Ted, of course, is not everybody's cup of tea, but every time I hear him speak I want to dip a digestive into mine and hear more.
