Racegoers are being left in the dark - but here's a simple way of fixing that

There's an easy way of improving the on-course experience for people enjoying a day at the races

We were about 25 minutes or so away from the Irish Derby at the Curragh last month when Robbie Irwin, MC in the Champions Lounge underneath the grandstand, called Aidan O'Brien up on stage to talk about his Classic contenders. What's strange about that, you might ask? Absolutely nothing, except for the fact that I can’t remember it ever being done before. 

Racegoers on track might get to hear the odd interview with the odd trainer, but it is done from the parade ring and it is usually with winning connections after a race. The horse has bolted by that stage.
