For months, punters had been unable to agree on a favourite for the Betfred 2,000 Guineas. Then, one morning last week, everything changed.

As dawn broke on Monday, Albert Einstein was a 9-1 shot, jostling for favouritism with a handful of other talented colts. Within a few hours, he was clear of the pack at just 7-2, with Paddy Power’s Paul Binfield saying there had been “relentless support” for the horse.
