Over to you Donnacha and Colin, it's your mission to resurrect the Irish season
Did you know Donnacha O'Brien has ridden 11 winners in the last 11 days? He needed all of them too as Colin Keane had sneaked into a double-digit lead before the action at Galway began. Paddy Power cannot seperate the pair anymore and go 5-6 each of two, so prepare yourself for another thrilling climax to the Irish jockeys' championship. And, boy do we need just that.
The plot for the first half of the Irish Flat season has lacked imagination and we badly need something to liven things up. While Frankie has been doing flying dismounts in his sleep, Ireland has been deprived of entertainment.
The only temporary releases from boredom have been Dettori's sojourns down to Killarney and to capture the Irish Oaks at the Curragh. It has taken a British-based Italian to put smiles on faces.
