Thursday's Racing League meeting at Newcastle will mark the end of the second year of the competition, yet the jury is still out over whether it can be considered a success.

I'm still not entirely sold on the concept – and I'm clearly not the only one given the amount of criticism that continues to be thrown at the competition from all corners. For many, a team competition just feels contrary to the nature of racing.

Yet in spite of this, I hope the Racing League returns next year and continues to be allowed to grow and develop.
