Newmarket win a timely reminder of veteran rider's talents

Rob Hornby rightly took the riding plaudits at Newmarket's July festival last week with two Group 1 strikes in two days, but Thursday belonged to a veteran of the weighing room.

Frankie Dettori was on the scoresheet that day but at 51 he is four years younger than Jimmy Quinn, the oldest professional jockey riding in Britain, who enjoyed a timely big-race success.

Partnering just his second winner of 2022 and fourth since the beginning of 2021, victory aboard Lethal Levi in a £100,000 handicap was understandably sweet for the 55-year-old.
