New chapter for ex-trainer Pritchard Gordon as debut novel flies off the shelves

Former Group 1-winning trainer Gavin Pritchard Gordon got through the endless weeks of lockdown last year by writing his first book and, much to his surprise, it has been flying off the shelves since its launch last Saturday.

Those seeking anecdotes from Pritchard Gordon's 24 years training at Newmarket will be disapppointed, however, as the 75-year-old has instead chosen to pen a rather risque book titled Cliffside, which is described as 'a novella of seduction and blackmail'.

Pritchard Gordon operates under the pen name of Gavin Alexander and it is only on the inside back page of the 78-page volume, which has a Cornish beach on the cover, the identity of the author is revealed.
