After an enthralling week's racing on both sides of the water, it is worth acknowledging how well attended the four-day festivals at Leopardstown and Limerick were.

We spend enough time lamenting poor crowds, so credit where it's due to all involved.

In relative terms, Leopardstown doesn't have the same rural, grassroots support to draw upon as Limerick does and it has struggled to attract satisfactory figures in recent times.
