ITV deserves support as it seeks to add Sundays in Ireland to schedule

In March next year the ties that bind Britain and Ireland are destined to become looser due to Brexit.

In February next year the ties that bind British and Irish racing could become rather stronger thanks to ITV – and whereas Brexit divides opinion, this is a move that deserves to receive universal support.

Further negotiations still need to take place, and potential bumps in the road have been identified, but there appears to be a reasonable chance perhaps five of six major Irish Sunday fixtures will be broadcast on ITV4 in 2019.
