Irish racing will have to accept its subservient role on RTV - it won't change

Given the gargantuan task faced by Racing TV last Saturday it was no surprise that it failed to satisfy many viewers and incurred the wrath of a considerable portion of its subscription base.

Eddie O'Leary and Jane Mangan vented in these pages after the Haydock hunter chase and its post-race coverage were given precedence over the Gowran Park bumper.

On Wednesday, Naas chairman Dermot Cantillon tweeted: "I attended the meeting of the Association of Irish Racecourses where representatives of (then) Racing UK presented – they have NOT followed through on their promises. Who's holding them to account?"
