Inspectiongate is infuriating but not inexcusable and the solution suggested is utter nonsense

Be careful what you wish for. Ludlow was the destination for the latest episode of A Touch of Frost this week. In what is becoming an all too familiar storyline, there was another late twist at the Shropshire venue on Thursday when a seven-race card was called off half-an-hour after the first race was due to commence. Infuriating? Yes. Inexcusable? Absolutely not. 

The racecourse and the BHA have been ridiculed since, a public outcry on social media with slurs such "amateurish" and "embarrassing" being thrown at the track. 

One account called it a "shambles" and went on to add that the sport was run with "less thought and integrity than our village jumble sale". 'Farce' was another popular word on the various platforms and one account wondered whether there was any other sport run with less professionalism.
