The more we know the better so let's have a more open and engaging approach from trainers when it comes to setbacks

Whether it is Sovereignty's absence from the Breeders' Cup or Caldwell Potter being ruled out for the season, bad news is never far away in racing. 

Unfortunately injuries and disappointments are commonplace when dealing with our fragile equine athletes, and risk will be heightened when there is travelling involved or more serious questions are asked at the start of the jumps season.

Fortunately, so many of racing's participants are buying into the importance of timely and detailed communication with racing fans and punters. Indeed, sometimes it even looks like we're beginning to crack the impenetrable Ryan Moore.
