Ed Dunlop chose the second Sunday of 2023 to launch his first racing club last weekend and nearly 100 people turned out at La Grange Stables to survey two syndicate horses donated by his leading owner Paul Turner.

Society Lion and Fearless Bay both did a turn in front of their prospective new owners, who were later also afforded a view of the pair at a canter – without even having to leave the yard.

This was possible due to Dunlop's circular deep sand canter, which is a furlong round and gets lots of use at this time of year as the older horses tick over before going back on to the Heath in February to begin their preparation for the Flat season proper.
