Horsepower has potential - put it over the jumps and it could be a real winner

What did you think of Horsepower, the racing series that endured a rocky release on Amazon Prime Video last week?

Once I was able to view the four-part programme after the streaming platform sorted out some issues with its release, I enjoyed it. I thought it was elegantly shot and entertaining, although it had its flaws.

The key to any documentary is its ability to convince viewers to invest in its characters. An interest in farming and cricket weren't necessary to engage with Clarkson's Farm or Freddie Flintoff's Field Of Dreams because viewers were rooting for its protagonists.
