Harry Fry, Sean Flanagan and Lizzie Kelly join our expert panel
Betway's Sam May and Tom O'Brien also deliver their verdicts
How potent a threat is Paul Nicholls to Nicky Henderson for the trainers’ title this season?
Sean Flanagan, jockey He’s started the season in terrific form but Nicky has too many established stars to lose the crown. When the serious stuff starts he’ll have something for almost all the Grade 1s. He’s going to be a very tough nut to crack.
Harry Fry, trainer Saturday’s five-timer at his local track shows that Paul Nicholls can never be discounted. If there’s even a glimpse of the title you can be sure he’ll be going all out to claim it. He might not have the headline acts of old or calibre of horse Nicky Henderson has but one thing’s for sure: he won’t go down without a fight.
Lizzie Kelly, jockey Paul had five winners at Wincanton but Nicky won the biggest race of the day there with Verdana Blue in the Elite and it could continue like that as Nicky has the higher-class horses like Buveur D’Air and Altior still to run, so I can’t see enough has changed from last year to feel Nicky isn’t going to win the championship again.
