Gordon Elliott, Venetia Williams and Colin Brown deliver their verdicts
Martin Keighley and Charles Hitchings also share their views
Can any horse stop Paisley Park in the Stayers' Hurdle?
Colin Brown, ex-jockey It was another brilliant performance by him. He only just does enough and looks every bit a chaser but his record over hurdles speaks for itself. I actually thought If The Cap Fits might beat him but he could be a flat-track horse. Benie Des Dieux would be a serious danger to Paisley Park if going for the Stayers’ rather than the Mares’ Hurdle.
Gordon Elliott, trainer It’s hard to see anything beating him. I was impressed by him on Saturday and he’s going to be one of the naps of the week as he bids to retain his crown at the festival. I don’t see myself fancying anything to beat him.
Charles Hitchings, Sporting Index Summerville Boy, who I think has tons of ability, was able to dictate his own pace and make it a tactical race. But Paisley Park still wasn’t found wanting and I think that is a testament to how talented he is. You would have to think Benie Des Dieux would be a danger but she will have to be every bit as good as Willie Mullins intimates in order to win.
