It is such a shame Del Boy and Rodney were not sojourning in the south of Ireland last week as Killarney would have been the perfect stage for one last side-splitting show of the famous sitcom.

Del Boy was always searching for that scam which might make him a millionaire this time next year and he would have pocketed a right few quid were he standing in the Killarney betting ring after the Rentokil Initial Qualified Riders Race was declared void last Thursday. The scenes were comical.

Kids, students, grown men and women – even some pensioners –were spotted on their hands and knees searching for dockets with bets placed on the 4.45. They all smelt a scam and one girl in particular thought she had hit the jackpot.
