It was a very sad day for myself when learning that Willie Snaith had passed away.

From the moment I was introduced to Willie he took me round Newmarket, and I owe him a lot for encouraging me to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, and he would tell everybody along the way of my idea, hence the seed was sown.

The picture above was taken in 1999 just after Willie introduced me to Sir Henry Cecil and his Derby-winning colt Oath. Taken at the old Newmarket Museum, both jockeys dressed up for me, whereby Willie’s colleague Eric Eldin managed the horse simulator. It seems like yesterday.
