Navan on Sunday

Acapella Bourgeois has his first run for us in the Ladbrokes Troytown Chase (2.35) and it’s going to be an extremely tough task for him with 11st 10lb and having to concede up to 28lb to his rivals.

His performance in the Ten Up Novice Chase over the course and distance last season when trained by Sandra Hughes was hugely impressive. He made all to win by 32 lengths and showed how well he handles testing conditions.

But it is going to be very tough for him – I’d call it a mammoth task – having to concede weight all round. We’re happy with him but the likelihood is that the winner will come from lower down the handicap.
