I'm no stickler about profanity, but do you think for one week we could avoid using the F-word? No not that one, I’m talking about Frankel.

On Wednesday we will witness Baaeed’s tenth outing on the racecourse. So far he has not missed a beat and there is little reason to expect him to do so when he tackles a mile and a quarter for the first time in the Juddmonte International.

All season long, the narrative surrounding Baaeed has focused not just on his own magnificent merits, but on how he stacks up against the only other British-trained horse this century to boast such an impressive unbeaten streak. But constant comparison with arguably the greatest Flat horse of all time does nothing for Baaeed’s own legacy.
