Duke making his voice heard in plea to racing authorities

Are there signs of simmering discontent at the grassroots of Irish racing? It certainly seems like it to judge from recent letters to the Irish Field newspaper, and follow-up comment on social media.

The most recent missive came from Curragh trainer Brendan Duke in which he called for Horse Racing Ireland to issue a draft plan in advance of the publication of the organisation's strategic plan, currently in development stage.

Duke described difficulties as "deeply rooted" and urged that draft proposals should be issued "to allow further consultation from all interested parties as we head into a crucial period".
