Losing both Vautour and Avant Tout on Sunday was a big blow for everyone associated with our yard and their loss is being felt by their owners and all our staff who looked after them so well.

What happened to Avant Tout at Naas, where he suffered a bad injury and had to be put down, was one of those unfortunate things that can happen in racing, whereas the injury suffered by Vautour when he broke a leg while out grazing in a paddock was a freak accident and one that came as a complete shock.
