Devastating Douvan ready to kick off in style at Cork
Djakadam and Black Hercules give us strong hand in John Durkan
We're all looking forward to Douvan making his first appearance of the season at Cork on Sunday when he lines up for the Grade 2 Kerry Group Hilly Way Chase (2.15), a race in which we have enjoyed plenty of success over the years.
Everyone knows the high regard in which we hold him and after having an excellent campaign as a novice hurdler he went on to be unbeaten as a novice chaser last season. He's in good form and ready to start off. We decided to stay local with him for his seasonal debut and picked tomorrow's race instead of sending him to Sandown for the Tingle Creek last weekend for his first race out of novice ranks.
He's a good jumper and the track's two-mile trip will suit him, plus he has won on all types of ground. We're hoping he'll put in a clear round and make a successful start to his season.
