Consultation on a five-day Cheltenham? I should think so

Cheltenham managing director Ian Renton is asking trainers and jockeys – people who spend an entire year dreaming of a festival winner –whether they would like the meeting expanded.

People who like cake and are obliged to share it tend to be in favour of bigger cakes. When it comes to 24-hour openings, alcoholics would likely be “keen” and would “offer no negatives” to borrow a couple of trainer quotes when asked about the idea of five days.

Renton “thinks” he will expand a consultation into a broader survey “which might encompass the ROA or our annual members”. “Might?” “Or?” It’s nice to see that the paying customer ranks so high.
