It is always a pleasure to be able to focus on some top-quality racing and I am looking forward to this year's Ebor meeting at York, a fixture that rarely disappoints.

The action gets under way on Wednesday and while it is highly unlikely we will see anything in the Juddmonte International to match what Frankel did five years ago, we are set for a real treat with the latest clash of the generations.

I have made no secret of my respect for Barney Roy in this column throughout the summer and have been impressed with his continued improvement. Hopefully, Wednesday's race can be the day for him to establish himself as a force outside his own age group.
