Monday's revelation has raised the stakes in the commercial stand-off between the racecourse group and three of the leading high street bookmaker brands, with implications for the sport of horseracing as well.

Ladbrokes Coral Group and Betfred have so far refused to sign up to new betting-shop channel The Racing Partnership, in which Arc is the main player.

Arc's purchase of the two greyhound tracks from William Hill, which has been estimated at more than £10 million, and them joining Greyhound Media Group make it likely TRP will dominate the betting-shop greyhound market from next year, increasing pressure on the unwilling bookmakers to sign.
