All eyes will be on expensive pointing sales recruits in the new year to see if they become stars of the future

Over the last few weeks, I've highlighted many fine wins achieved on the track by point-to-point graduates. Now, as we head into the Christmas break, it's a good time to look at some of the potential stars of the future, horses who have gone through the sales ring after showcasing their ability during a highly successful autumn points campaign.
The stand-out horse during lively trading at the Tattersalls Cheltenham November Sale was Dawn Of Light, a half-sister by Mahler to Bravemansgame, bought by Mags O'Toole for £370,000.
After a run at Lisronagh in February, she looked special when reappearing at Quakerstown on the second Sunday in November, beating a Walk In The Park filly of mine by 20 lengths without being given a hard race.
