Two jockeys have been punished this month for breaches of different but very much related rules.

Adam Farragher went before an independent panel last Monday to appeal against a seven-day ban for "failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing" aboard McIntosh at Kempton last month. 

Three days later Micheal Nolan spoke publicly about his first ride in the Randox Grand National, one which culminated in Celebre D'Allen being pulled up after jumping the last and subsequently collapsing. He had been banned for ten days and subjected to an ordeal by social media that only intensified in the wake of Celebre D'Allen's death 48 hours after the race.
