A Gold Cup bid for Shishkin? That's not as fanciful as it sounds

Nicky Henderson turns 72 on Saturday, so you might think at that age he is entitled to be stuck in his ways.

Perhaps I was guilty of thinking that after the Tingle Creek last week, won by the impressive Edwardstone, who beat last year's winner Greaneteen with the Henderson-trained Shishkin, the 6-5 favourite, a well-held third after jumping left at times.

Shishkin was far from disgraced and just looked in need of further, although some could argue the dual Cheltenham Festival hero would be entitled to improve for the outing after being diagnosed with a rare bone condition after last March's Champion Chase.
