One trainer, one jockey, one horse and one race to watch on Saturday
One trainer
Tim Easterby and Flying Pursuit have combined to win the last two runnings of the Sky Bet Dash at York (2.40), and the pair return to the Knavesmire again in search of an unprecedented treble in the £50,000 contest.
Victory for the admirable six-year-old would be a sweet one for the North Yorkshire trainer, but Easterby has more than one dart to throw at the 6f handicap.
Legitimate cases can be made for Staxton and last year's runner-up Golden Apollo, both of whom have been in good form of late, while the trainer's fourth runner, Hyperfocus, has had excuses on his last two starts and could go well at a big price.
One jockey
Danny Tudhope remains clear at the top of the jockeys' championship standings and get the opportunity to solidify his position with an excellent book of rides at York. Addeybb produced a smart performance at Royal Ascot when winning the Wolferton and steps up in class in the Group 2 Sky Bet York Stakes (3.15).
Other rides include the in-from Gulliver in the Sky Bet Dash (2.40) as well a trio of good handicap chances in Medahim, Makawee and Astrologer mean this could be another big day for Tudhope.
One horse
The racing world stops whenever Enable takes to the track and that will doubtless be the case again as the star mare goes in search of an 11th consecutive success and a second in Ascot's Qipco-sponsored King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (3.40).
She returned to action this season with a seemingly effortless victory in the Coral-Eclipse this month and her irresistible relationship with Frankie Dettori continues, as will her march towards a date with destiny in the Qatar Pric de l'Arc de Triopmhe should she oblige at odds-on.
One race
While Enable understandably casts a shadow over her ten rivals in the King George, an argument can be made that this may well be her toughest task.
Crystal Ocean enters the Group 1 on the back of his breakthrough top-level success in the Prince of Wales's Stakes, while Derby winner Anthony Van Dyck heads a powerful four-pronged Ballydoyle squad.
That's even before you mention the resurgent Defoe and the consistent Waldgeist, who ran well in the race won by Crystal Ocean at Royal Ascot. This one should be an event to savour.
