One trainer, one horse, one jockey and one race to watch on Sunday
Trainer
Clive Cox is an established top-level trainer but he is still searching for a first Classic success.
He could have two live chances for both the 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas following Newbury's top-class card should both pass their trials with flying colours.
The star attraction for the trainer is last year's shock 150-1 Coventry Stakes winner Nando Parrado, who proved that victory was no fluke with two solid runner-up efforts in Group 1s in France.
He contests the Group 3 Greenham Stakes (2.45) and is a general 50-1 shot for the 2,000 Guineas.
In the Fred Darling Stakes (2.10), Cox is represented by Group 3-winning juvenile Isabella Giles, who was last seen finishing ninth in the Fillies' Mile at Newmarket and is a general 25-1 for the second British classic on May 2.
Horse
Allmankind will bid to get back to winning ways over a new trip for the first time in the Future Champions Novices' Chase at Ayr (3.00).
The five-year-old rocketed up the novice chasing ranks with three easy front-running successes earlier in the season, including in the Grade 1 Henry VIII Novices' Chase at Sandown in December, before suffering a heavy defeat when fourth to Shiskin in the Arkle at Cheltenham.
Trainer Dan Skelton swerved a rematch with his festival conqueror at Aintree last weekend in favour of trying two and a half miles for the first time in the Grade 2 contest.
Jockey
Harry Skelton nosed to the front of the jockeys' championship standings for the first time earlier this week and has a golden opportunity to extend the margin further with a strong book of rides at Ayr, headlined by Allmankind (3.00).
The gap between Skelton and Brian Hughes stood at four before Saturday's action, with Skelton having ridden 143 winners this term compared to Hughes' 139.
Skelton has six rides at the Scottish track with three of them, including Allmankind, likely to go off favourite.
He rides King D'Argent in the Listed 2m½f handicap chase (1.15), and Calico in the Scottish Champion Hurdle (2.25), who has been supported into favoritism last week.
He also rides the Dan Skelton-trained Oldgrangewood in the Scottish Grand National (3.35) on what could be a crucial day in his quest for a maiden jockeys' title.
Race
Plenty of races on an action-packed Sunday are worth watching but the feature race, the Coral Scottish Grand National (3.35), is set to be a cracker.
We may witness a home victory as three of the first four in the betting are trained in Scotland. The current favourite is the Harriet Graham-trained Aye Right, who has hit the frame in the Ladbrokes Trophy, Sky Bet Chase and Ultima Handicap Chase this season.
Dingo Dollar and Mighty Thunder also feature prominently in the market in a nine-strong battalion for the Tartan Army.
Ireland are also represented in the race by Mister Fogpatches, while Soldier Of Love has been strongly supported this week to provide Paul Nicholls with a fourth Scottish Grand National success.
