One horse, one jockey, one trainer and one race to watch on Saturday
One horse
Brian Ellison has enjoyed a great start to the season and he's unveiled a potentially top-class prospect in Windsor Avenue. The seven-year-old was a decent hurdler but has stormed to two easy triumphs over fences.
He now steps up to Grade 2 company at Doncaster (2.10), where he faces 2017 Long Walk Hurdle winner Sam Spinner. Despite a small field it will be the first significant step for Windsor Avenue en route to bigger things.
One jockey
James Bowen has a book of interesting rides at Cheltenham, including the Willie Mullins-trained Robin Des Foret in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup (1.55).
The talented rider also picks up rides on Valtor and Call Me Lord in the Albert Bartlett trial (2.30) and International Hurdle (3.05) respectively. The pair are no forlorn hopes, either, so it would be no surprise to see Bowen back in Cheltenham's winner's enclosure.
One trainer
Nicky Henderson saddles a team of festival prospects at Cheltenham on Saturday, including last year's Triumph winner Pentland Hills in the International Hurdle.
The highly regarded Champagne Platinum makes his chase bow in the novice chase (12.45), joined by Grade 2 winner Mister Fisher, while French recruit Tombee Du Ciel is the sole representative in the juvenile trial at Doncaster (2.45).
Despite some high-profile setbacks with Altior and Buveur D'Air, there appears to be plenty of young talent ready at the Lambourn trainer's disposal.
One race
The Caspian Caviar Gold Cup has been won by some high-class horses and this year's renewal has attracted an intriguing line-up.
Cepage, runner-up to Ryanair hero Frodon in last year's running, heads the weights while Lalor and Benatar, classy individuals on their best form, also appear in the declarations.
