O'Leary: Samcro was a ridiculous price and I knew he'd get beaten

Samcro was far too short in the betting, nobody should have been surprised he was beaten, and you will see a much improved horse next time.

That was the frank assessment on Monday of Eddie O’Leary as he reflected on the Gigginstown star's seemingly shock defeat at Down Royal.

The most hyped horse in Ireland failed to live up to market expectations in the Grade 2 WKD Hurdle last Friday, for which he started 4-9, but O'Leary revealed he was by no means dejected by the display and is adamant you will see a far better Samcro in the Unibet Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown on Sunday week.
