France is without a contender in the William Hill St Leger but is strongly represented in the high-class Arabian race that forms part of Doncaster's Saturday card.

The Francois Rohaut-trained Rajeh is joined by stablemate Goumoh and fellow raiders Rodess Du Loup and Rijm in this seven-runner contest.

Rajeh and Rodess Du Loup are old rivals, with their most recent encounter at Deauville last month having gone to Rajeh, whose trainer said: "Rajeh has beaten Rodess Du Loup twice but they are the best four-year-olds and are of equal quality."

Charles Gourdain is hoping Rodess Du Loup can give him back-to-back wins in the £80,000 event he won 12 months ago with Nafees.

Gourdain said: "Rodess Du Loup is harder to settle and will need a certain amount of pace, but Christophe Soumillon knows him very well and knows exactly what to do with him."
