Old favourite returns - and he's brought the weather with him
There are two evening meetings to get your teeth stuck into in Britain and one in Ireland this evening, with Leicester, Punchestown and Windsor hosting the action. The feature Listed Leisure Stakes at Windsor is not a race short of depth and throws together a range of compelling narratives.
5.55 Windsor
Although she only finished third when sent off the 7-2 favourite on her debut at Ascot earlier this month, Out Of The Flames put up an encouraging performance and only went down by a nose and a head in what looked quite a hot maiden. Both the winner Mrs Gallagher and second-placed Ertiyad look to have considerable ability and Out Of The Flames looked as if she had them covered before weakening late on.
Tropics
7.25 Windsor
Britain is set for a heatwave this week so Tropics (remember him?) could well be a fitting selection in the Listed Leisure Stakes. Dean Ivory's popular sprinter returns from a 660-day absence and is now a nine-year-old, but was unlucky not to win a Group 1 in his pomp as he only went down by a nose in the July Cup won by Muhaarar and finished second to Slade Power the year before. He broke the track record when winning this race back in 2015.
Wannabe Like You
8.35 Leicester
When you see the baby pink silks of Normandie Stud the winning post is never usually far away. Their breeding empire can't seem to go a season without producing a high profile winner and it is possible their debutant Wannabe Like You could prove well above average. His dam Wannabe Posh was a Listed winner over a mile and a half and she has already produced three winners, including Group 3 scorer Wannabe Yours.
