O'Brien keeps big-race options open for stars

Idaho, Order Of St George, Highland Reel and Bondi Beach all remain among the Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate entries for Aidan O'Brien after the first acceptance stage on Tuesday.

The list of 159 Cox Plate entries was reduced to 87 on Tuesday, while 107 remain in the Caulfield Cup from 171.

O'Brien has seven Cox Plate and nine Caulfield Cup entries – Sir Issac Newton is in both races along with the aforementioned quartet, while Houseofparliament, Cook Islands, The Major General and Sword Fighter also remain in the Caulfield Cup; Hit It A Bomb and Long Island Sound were among the Cox Plate acceptances.
