Newmarket's loss could be Ascot's gain as Aidan O'Brien indicated Irish Cesarewitch winner Waterville could run in the Group 2 Long Distance Cup on Qipco British Champions Day.

Ballydoyle's one-time Derby hope had been priced up as 4-1 favourite with Coral for the Cesarewitch a day before declarations, but connections favour a clash with Trueshan in the £500,000 pot at Ascot.

Prix du Cadran winner Kyprios tops the Long Distance Cup market at 11-10 with bet365, although O'Brien indicated earlier this week he was unlikely to be seen again this season.
