Nottingham's first meeting of the season on Wednesday, featuring the Listed totepool Barry Hills Further Flight Stakes, is subject to an inspection at 9am on Tuesday.

The going at the track was described as heavy on an overcast Monday morning following 2mm of rain on Sunday.

Up to 10mm is forecast overnight into Tuesday, which has prompted officials to call the inspection.

It is also heavy at Hexham, which is due to race on Tuesday after passing a check on Monday morning.

However, the prospect of more rain could result in another inspection.

"Any further rain is unwanted and will result in another inspection," clerk of the course James Armstrong explained. "We could see upwards of 5mm of rain in the early hours of Tuesday."

Jumping is also set to take place at Southwell and Hereford, which is an additional fixture, on Tuesday, while Tipperary's Flat fixture was transferred to Dundalk last week. Wolverhampton stages an all-weather card as well.
