Riven Light is in quarantine in Newmarket in preparation for his upcoming trip to Australia but, according to trainer Willie Mullins, it has yet to be decided whether he will take on star Aussie mare Winx in the Group 1 Ladbrokes Cox Plate on October 28.

Mullins is looking to send four horses to Melbourne. Wicklow Brave, winner of last year's Irish St Leger, is with Riven Light at Newmarket, while Emirates Melbourne Cup possibles, Max Dynamite and Thomas Hobson, are likely to go into quarantine in Newmarket a week on Wednesday.

Max Dynamite, who was beaten half a length in the Melbourne Cup two years ago, is entered in the Group 3 Loughbrown Stakes over two miles at Naas on Sunday.

"We'll decide in a few days whether he'll run at Naas," said Mullins. "We haven't made any definite decisions about him or Thomas Hobson but it's likely that they will both go into quarantine next week."

Riven Light is in the Cox Plate, but he will have a few other entries in Melbourne and it's possible he will run in the Caulfield Stakes at Caulfield on October 14. The Caulfield Stakes is a Group 1 weight-for-age race over a mile and a quarter.

"Nothing has been finalised and if he does run in the Caulfield Stakes we'll see how things go and take it from there."

Riven Light has scored twice on the Flat this season, landing a mile premier handicap at the Galway festival in July and a 1m1f Listed event at the Listowel festival last week.

Wicklow Brave is being aimed at the 1m4f Group 1 Caulfield Cup on October 21 and may also line up in the Melbourne Cup, a race in which he finished 22nd of 24 a year ago.
